I am so thankful to be having two baby showers this summer. I have one under my belt and “write thank you notes” on my to-do list. Lots of them!
A few weeks ago, I realized I was going to need to buy some note cards. I went to Target hoping to find something cute and something I could personalize. Rubber stamps are my craft of the year (that and spray painting!) I scored big with these Hot Hues brand cards – a pack of 50 was just $9.99 (why are note cards so expensive and only packaged in sets of 5 and 10!? Everyone needs packs of 50.) I loved the colors and knew I could make them even more special with a little stamping.
My next step was to fine a baby-ish stamp. I searched Target and Amazon and found this one that wasn’t too cutesy (there are so many storks and baby animals and things). I love that it’s a double meaning – OH BOY I loved your gift and OH BOY we are having!
I spent an evening with my big archival stamp pad stamping away at the cards…
Not perfect, but that’s my favorite thing about a stamp!
And now I am ready to get writing!
Speaking of stamps, that’s one thing I forgot to stock up on. To the post office!

Thank you for showing people that writing thank you notes are still appreciated and needed. It has become such a lost art with the younger generations.
I had two showers this summer too and just finished my thank you notes. There were a lot of them & with achy pregnant hands it was a chore. Happy that they are finally behind me 🙂
Matt and I split the task, so that lightened our handwriting load just a bit : ) Although I write notes about 50% faster than he does!
What a cute idea. Never thought of that!
Wow what a busy morning! Cute notecards! 🙂
I made stamped thank you notes, too! I had a cowboy themed shower (I’m from Texas) so I bought a little boot to stamp on the notes. Turned out so cute!
My new favorite crafty item is foam stickers- my little one loves all the colors!
I LOVE buying blank notecards to stamp and personalize. So much more cost effective and I’m usually tres picky about the designs I find in the store.
Oh my gosh that’s so cute!
I just recently cleaned out my ridiculous collection of rubber stamps. I need to start over with a few relevant ones and move from there!
super cute and creative, sweet Kath!! XO
What a cute idea!! I need to keep that in mind for thank you cards (non-baby related ones for me)!
I think it is so thoughtful of you to spend time and effort on your thank you notes. You are someone who I would enjoy buying a gift for because I can see you appreciate it! It seems like a dying thing with our generation. I’ve been to several baby showers recently of close friends and family and only a few have sent out thank you notes! VERY surprising!
To be brutally honest, no thank you note = rude in my opinion. It makes me feel like they expected the gift. (Which a few of my family members probably did, haha) 🙂
Note cards are expensive, & so are thank you cards! When I find a good deal on either of them, I usually buy a few to stock up.
I love things that can be used as double duty!
Stamping is easy, & I love to add a special touch!

Make extra cards and buy extra stamps. After baby arrives, the gifts will pour in and you will want to be well stocked.
I was going to leave this same advice! It was very easy for me to be all caught up on the gifts we received prior to Anderson’s birth, but the gifts that arrived after, were much harder to get cards out for. You might even consider pre-writing them a little bit, just the basics.
Thank you so much for the _____________ leave a huge blank space and then sign them. Anything that saves you a few seconds after the baby comes is worth it. Trust.
LOVE the stamp + notecard idea! ….I may have to steal that one from you! Sooo cute, Kath- love the personal touch!
Super cute!
Adorable note cards!
Makes the cards that more meaningful: because they are (sort of) homemade!
I did something really similar for our thank you notes and just wanted you to know that Michaels has a good deal on cards too! I got a set of 100 really colorful cards and envelopes that were perfect for stamping. I think they retail for $19.99 but Michaels always has that 40% off coupon you can use!
great DIY idea!
Oh Thank You notes.. something so necessary but something I SO do not enjoy!
